小樽のお土産を自分で作りませんか？作った作品はその日にお持ち帰りできます。
お土産作りを指導するのは「小樽職人の会」、小樽市内で活動する現役の職人です。作るものは、小樽らしい雑貨や、日本の伝統工芸品など様々な種目から選べます。小樽の職人と一緒にお土産作りをして、小樽の文化に触れてみませんか？
1種目5名様から承ります。実施場所や時間などのアレンジも、ご相談に乗ります。お気軽にお問い合わせください。
Why not make something as a special memento of Otaru? You can take it home the very day you make it.
Your instructor will be an artisan active in his/her craft here in Otaru and a member of the Otaru Meister’s Guild. You can choose what to make from a variety of traditional Japanese craftworks.

The cost for your craftwork experience of 90 minutes is just 2,300 yen per person (incl. tax).

白磁キーホルダー絵付け
White Porcelain Keychain Painting
丸い白磁にスタンプで輪郭を押し、そこに特殊な絵の具で好きな色をのせ、窯で焼き上げて絵を定着させます。焼き上がったものはキーホルダーにして、お持ち帰りいただきます。
You’ll press a round outline in the porcelain with a stamp, then apply the colors you like with a special paint, and finally, bake it in the kiln to fix the picture. After baking, your creation will be made to a keychain you can take home.

モザイクキャンドル作り
Mosaic Candles
工場で使用しているパラフィンに色付けし、ブロックにしたものを好きなように組み合わせ、最後に固めてオリジナルのモザイクキャンドルを作ります。
You’ll enjoy coloring the paraffin we use in the factory to create blocks, and then assembling them whatever way you wish and finally letting them harden to create your original mosaic candle.

Traditional Imprints of Family Crests
自分の家の家紋、またはお好きな家紋を型を使って制作。扇子 (sensu, fan)に貼り付けてオリジナルの「家紋扇子を作ります」
Use patterns to recreate your own family crest or simply one you like. Then paste it onto a Japanese fan (sensu) for your original crested fan!

「創意・工夫」純銀の指輪作り
Creativity and the Art of Making Fine Silver Rings
デザインリングの製作過程を体験します。銀粘土でできた指輪に、好きなデザインを彫り込み、窯で焼き上げます。焼き上がった銀の指輪は鏡面仕上げてをして輝きを出します。
Enjoy the experience of the production processes of making and carving a silver ring with your own design. Engrave your favorite design in a ring made of art clay silver and fire it in a kiln. Polish the fired ring to a mirror finish and enjoy its shine.

伝統の上生菓子作り
Making Traditional Japanese Sweets
「練り切り餡」を使って、日本の伝統的な上生菓子を４つ作ります。職人が形の作り方、模様のつけ方を指導します。
We’ll make four traditional Japanese sweets using nerikiri dough made of bean paste. An artisan will teach you how to create shapes and give them patterns.

初心者でも彫りやすいろう石を使い、落款を彫ります。字体の選び方、彫り方を職人が指導します。
Beginners will enjoy an easy-to-carve soft stone while making their signature seal. The artisan will guide you in selecting a font and on how to engrave your seal.

洗い染の技 染め物体験
Dyeing Techniques Dyeing Experience
染色の体験を、真っ白いバンダナ生地を使って行います。絞り染の技法で、染料にひたした白い布が、洗ってぱっと色が変わる様を体験してください。
We’ll use a pure white bandana as the fabric for your dyeing experience. You’ll get to try the Japanese way of tie-dyeing and seeing how the color changes once the white fabric is dyed and washed.

ステンドグラスのオーナメント
Stained Glass Ornaments
好きな色のガラスパーツを選び、はんだごてを使ってステンドグラスのオーナメントを作ります。銅テープを縁につけたパーツが用意されていますので、はんだづけから体験します。※軍手とエプロンをご持参ください
You will select glass parts in your favorite colors and then create a stained glass ornament of them using solder. The edges are already covered with copper tape, so you’ll start your experience by soldering the pieces together.

小さな小樽「あなたの石蔵」作り
"My Stone Warehouse" -- Bring home a little Otaru with you.
軟らかくて加工がしやすい「軟石」を使って、小樽の街並みに欠かせない『石蔵』を作ります。
Make your own miniature warehouse, just like a one in Otaru, with Nanseki (soft stone). Although Naseki is a stone, it is soft enough to process by hand.

シラカバで作るフォトスタンド
Photo stand made of "Shirakaba", white birch
小樽市の木に選定されているシラカバの木を使って、フォトスタンドを作ります。
シラカバの幹の台座に開けた穴に、シラカバの枝を差します。よい枝ぶりのものを選んで穴に入るように削ってください。枝の適当な場所に木ねじを埋め込みます。葉っぱ形の木にマグネットをつけ、木ねじにつくようにします。そこにポストカードや写真を挟み、飾ってください。
A photo stand is made from a white birch, which is designated as Otaru City Tree.
Insert a birch branch into the hole drilled in the base. Select a good branch and adjust it so that it fits in the hole. Embed wood screws on the branch. Attach a magnet to the leaf-shaped piece of wood so that it attaches to the wood screw. Insert and display postcards or photos

本漆で仕上げられた塗り箸に、金箔を貼って仕上げます。金箔仏壇の制作職人が指導する本格的な金箔貼りです。
You’ll get to apply gold leaf to lacquered chopsticks. The gold leaf is the real thing and instruction is provided by the very artisans who create gold leaf altars.
