東雲工房は平成25年創業。北海道の自然をテーマに制作したシルバー・ジュエリーを各種イベントで販売しています。
「銀粘土」と呼ばれる特殊な材料を使って銀細工のアクセサリーを作っています。手軽に整形できるのでとっつきやすいですが、専門としている人は少ないようです。
元々は油絵をやっていましたが、その後宝飾の販売に。自分で作ることに転向し、いろいろなアクセサリーや小物を制作して15年くらいになります。
銀粘土は800〜900度で焼くことによってメタル化します。そこからさらに磨くと、表面が鏡面となって輝き出す瞬間がよいですね。
I create silver-smithed accessories out of a special material called art clay silver. Because it is easy to shape, it is easy to get into the field, but not so many people seem to specialize in it.
I originally started off in oil paintings, but later turned to selling jewelry. I shifted to making my own work and have been making accessories and small pieces for about 15 years.
Art clay silver turns into metal once it is fired at a temperature of 800 to 900 degrees. When you’re polishing it afterwards, there’s a great moment when the surface starts shining like a mirror.
